After switching back to PCs, I missed MacroMate’s TextMate a hell of a lot. Looking for an alternative for Windows, I stumbled across a couple of board discussions, mostly with the conclusion that there is no such thing as TextMate for Windows users.

It appears research is not everybody’s vocation.

The solution bears the short and concise name ‘E’. The whole workflow is pretty much the same, the E texteditor even supports original TextMate-Bundles and snippets. A few shortcomings still bother me (where the heck has the clipboard history gone??), but overall I can’t find any words to describe what a deep of an impact it had on my workflow…
